A ROMP IN THE SNOW

The dogs love to go play at the park. Richard took them after a good snow storm and they got to have a day in the powder. They had a great time running and chasing , then posing for pictures. They were so worn out at the end that they had to have a ride back home.

They all slept well this evening.

The Cycling Excitement Begins

A week ago Richard and I watched recaps of the "TOUR DOWN UNDER". It got us all excited about the upsoming cycling season. It seems as if it has been a long time since our cycling season. We have both gotten our National Appointments. Richards appointment was for Tour of Leelanau as a Motor Referee. Richard then got a call from Shawn asking him to work the Junior/U23/ Elite National Championship. Then the dreaded email came that Tour of Leelanau had been canceled. Richard is hoping to get a few more opportunities to work as a Motor this year.

My appointments were for the Redlands Cycling Classic, Oregon Pro Cycling Classic, Cascade Clasic and the Tour of Missouri. I also got a phone call from Shawn asking if I could add the Tour of the Gila to my summer. After accepting all of these races, I also got the dreaded email saying that the Oregon Pro Cycling Classic had been cancelled for this year. I had enjoyed working that race last year so was disappointed.

It will be a great year for us. Next week is the Annual Officials Meeting here in Utah and we should hear about our local appointments. Hopefully we will get to work some Collegiate races, they are great fun. Maybe some races in Idaho, California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington will also come our way. We truly enjoy what we do and look forward to another fun year of Officiating.

SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

What a great day! The weather outside is beautiful. Richard used his new roaster/smoker/cooker to cook a turkey for our dinner. It looked beautiful - almost too beautiful to eat, but we did. It was so moist and had great flavor. We really enjoyed it.

The potatoes and Coke/Cherry Salad were also a hit.

How lucky I was to get a husband who enjoys cooking! He makes such nummy meals.

Now who to cheer for? Grandpa Blanco lives in Pennsylvania, so we should be cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers with him. But . . . . Jessica lives in Arizona so we should be cheering for the Arizona Cardinals with her. So what will we do - Cheer for the Steelers when they have the ball and cheer for the Cardinals when they have the ball. For sure the one thing we will do is pay attention to the commercials. What one will we vote for as best commercial of the game?

No more Wining Streak

I had high hopes of my winning streak continuing yesterday and that I would come home from the Macy's Grocery Store Super Bowl Party with one of these.
But instead I won these:

Great treats for the Super Bowl, but somehow no comparison to what I had dreamed of watching the Super Bowl on.
