ELISABETH NICOLE BLANCO

Happy Birthday Elisabeth. We tried to call you at midnight so that we could be the first to wish you Happy Birthday, but your phone isn't working. We Love our Beth! Have a fabulous day and know that we are thinking of you today.

Southern Nevada Stage Race

Holly was the Chief Judge for the Southern Nevada Stage Race last weekend. The race was in Las Vegas. I rode down to the race with Cindy Yorgason on Wednesday. Thursday we spent most of the day at Pro Cyclery Bike Shop for Registration and Packet Pick Up.

We woke up during the night on Thursday to the sound of dripping water. The room above us had a leak in one of the pipes and it was leaking into our bathroom. The next morning the hotel moved us into a new roon.

Friday was the time trial, north of Las Vegas. We had some excitement before the race, as the Monte Carlo hotel was on fire. The fire was contained to the top few floors, but it had the freeway shut completly down for a time.

Saturday was Crits at Sam Boyd Stadium. The race went around the stadium. First race was to start at 8:00 am, the last race finished around 4:00. After the race all of the officials had a training session with Marilyn Allen, a UCI Commissaire. She was my assistant for the races, and I learned a lot from her. Thank you Marilyn. I look forward to working with you again this summer.

Sunday we woke up to the sound of water again, except this time it was the rain outside. The first wave of races had rain and wind to race with. I was really glad for the Sports Events trailer to stand inside. The second wave of racers had bitter cold, and wind for their races. We finished for the day at 5:00 (Utah time) and headed for home. I got home at 11:45, I was really tired and ready to sleep in my own bed.

It is hard to believe that I already have my first race of the year under my belt.

SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! and more SNOW!

We have had lots of snow here. It is deeper than our puppy can stand. We have to go out in the yard, and create a path for her to go outside and do her businesss. In about three places the snow is piled so high, that we can't throw it that high anymore. The mailbox is all but buried in it.

Chloe is growing bigger every day. She has learned how to jump over the fence we put up to keep her in the kitchen. She is sleeping all through the night now.(YEAH!!!!!!!) She is really good about going into her kennel when we leave the house. If she gets tired when we are home, she will even go into the kennel.

We have been trying to take her for a walk every night. She is really funny as we grabs ahold of her leash, and carries it in her mouth as we walk. I will try to get a picture on the weekend (it is too dark for one when we walk after work)

We Love our Chloe!

More Winning!

Holly just keeps winning. She won $250.00 for Macy's Department Store. I guess it is time to go shopping.

She also won an IPOD touch. Thank you DeBry University. AfterI picked up the IPOD, we realized that it has wireless internet access. We have had fun finding WIFI spots to use it at. One Sunday afternoon, Richard was on the laptop, Rachael on the desktop, and I was using the IPOD. We were all having fun.

Christmas

Merry Christmas! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I had a great Christmas present - a new puppy. We are now the proud owners of a blue heeler. We have named her Chloe. She is a really cute puppy and a happy addition to our home. The cat isn't so sure that she likes the new puppy, but I am sure that she will adjust. Lightning is trying to be a good big sister, but she doesn't like being chewed on.

Christmas Eve

Richard had Christmas Eve off, so he and Rachael got to do the shop with the crowds on Christmas Eve. What a ZOO!!!

Holly got to work. (YUCK!!) The boss let everyone go home about 3:00, so Richard and Rachael picked me up then and we went to the theater at Thanksgiving Point to see "National Treasure - Book of Secrets" We all enjoyed the movie, especially the "intermission". During the movie, the picture stopped, and the sound kept going. It took them about 10 minutes to get things fixed and running correctly again. It worked out good for us, we were able to visit the bathroom, refill the popcorn and drinks without missing any of them movie.

When the movie ended, we came outside to find the Christmas Eve storm had come in with a punch, bitter cold, wind, and lots of snow on the ground. The roads were a mess driving home.
