Rachael becomes a parent.

We have Piddidle. Rachael got this cat when she was 2. The cat stays mostly downstairs and loves to sleep on the bed with Rachael. She will also sneak into Steven's room and sleep on his bed if he leaves the door open. We have to be careful about leaving the door to the room under the stairs open, because she can really hide in there. If the dogs come downstairs they head right to the cat's food dish and eat it all up. She does have some sort of things going on with her eyes. The hair around them has all fallen out. But she doesn't seem bothered by it in any way. We think it is cute the way she stretches out on the edge of Rachael's bed trying to reach Rachael as she puts on makeup in the mornings. We love our kitty.

We also have Chloe. Our Blue Heeler is just over a year old and we got her for Christmas last year. Chloe has lots of energy and knows that she can hide in her kennel and maybe avoid going outside with the other dogs.

When Steven moved home, his two dogs came with him. Sugar, the Black Lab just loves attention. She would sit beside you all night if you just kept petting her. She loves to go for a walk and jump into the stream at the park. She will walk in the stream all the way to the park. I am sure she can hardly wait for it to warm up enough to get into the water.

Chubbs is a beagle. Chubbs is our barker. He has this deep sounding bark. I am always telling him to shut up. His tail never stops wagging. He is the trouble maker at the house. He sneeks out of the fence, then Chloe follows him.

You would think that one cat and three dogs would be enough. But no, Rachael decided she needed another pet. We told her no more cats, NO MORE DOGS, she kept asking. Finally she asked about a fish. She was told that she would have to pay for, she would have to feed it and she would have to clean the fish bowl. She decided that she was willing to do all three. So off we went to Pets Mart.

This is what we came home with. One Beta. After much deliberation (not as much as the K2's did over giving the new baby a name) the fish got a name - DIABLO

This picture shows the beautiful colors Diablo has. Rachael claims that Diable gets excited and swims around the bowl when she walks into the room. But the color in the video isn't very good.

So Rachael is now "the parent". Long Live Diablo.

Pretty fish!
My friend has had a beta for a year and a half. We think that it will live forever.
