Winning Streak

I have been having a good time entering contests on the internet. In the evening while watching TV, I play on the internet and look for contests to enter. I've been doing this for months and not winning anything. But my luck changed in December.

I have really been on a wining streak. For the last 5 weeks in a row I have gotten an email about winning some sort of contest. I have won

Then the week after that I got:

$50.00 to spend at Home Depot.

With more contests to enter, and feeling lucky,I kept at it and again got an email telling me that I had won this:

I am putting lots of pictures on a memory stick and having fun figuring out how to make the Digital Picture Frame work. We are already getting lots of enjoyment from it scrolling thru the pictures and enjoying the memories. But that was not all.

Next I won a case of this:

Today the last of the things arrived:

We are set for the Super Bowl now, this also came with coupons for free Pepsi Products and free Frito O Lay chips.

So for those of you planning on going to Macy's tomorrow to win the Big Screen TV, don't bother. Luck is on my side and it is coming home to my house. (At least that is what my husband is hoping)

Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra

Grandpa Anderson was one of the lucky people who got 4 tickets to the Christmas Concert of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. Rachael and I drove up to Grandma and Grandpa's early in the day on December 13. The weather was really nasty that day. As we drove over the Point of the Mountain it was a white out. We stopped at the South Towne Mall and did some Christmas shopping. I'd hoped that while we were in the mall the weather would get better, but no such luck. We drove carefully to Bountiful, passing numerous accidents along the way.

Jordan and AJ were at Grandma's for the weekend, along with their dogs. Grandma and I put up the quilting frames and we quilted a blanket for Grandpa Blanco for Christmas.

The weather had cleared up some while we were there, but another storm was scheduled to hit later in the evening. Rachael and I headed to town with Grandma and Grandpa, we were to be in our seats by 7:15 for the 8:00 performance. Grandma brought her opera glasses and we all had a good time watching people with them.

The concert was wonderful. It was titled "Ring Christmas Bells". They performed a number of songs with Bell Ringers. A couple of guys held bells that took both hands to hold and ring. They were really bit. We enjoyed watching for Shannon Shepherd, a neighbor who sings with the choir. I think my favorite song was "The Friendly Beasts" sung by Brian Stokes Mitchell. He not only sung the song, but had facial expressions to fit the animals he was singing about.

I was really glad that Rachael and I had decided to spend the night at Mom and Dad's when it took us over an hour to get out of the parking garage.

Thanks Grandpa for winning the tickets and inviting us to go with you. We had a great time.

FAIR AND SQUARE

Rachael taught Richard and I new game. It is a version of War and you can play it with lots of people. We have played it almost every night. When Richard wins a hand he says, "I got that one Fair and Square." Rachael and I aren't so sure that he was "Fair and Square", but he gets the hand. We have played it with Austin and Sean. I think Austin was catching on to it, but Sean, still needs help. It has been lots of fun. Rachael and I just laugh now when Richard hollers out

Fair and Square!!

It''s SNOWING

As I sit at work, I look out my window. The snow is falling, big flakes, falling straight down. It looks beautiful. The roads are slick, the sidewalks slippery. But I love it. The snow is so white and clean, it brings a smile to my face. I could just sit her and watch it fall. But Bonnie is still on her extended leave and Sherri called in sick, Char is gone for the day, lots of work to do and I must get back to it.

I'll do my best to not be distracted by the beautiful snow!
